Coach Randy Roush (Billings)

The 2025-2026 school year marks Coach Roush's first year helming the Wildcats' Archery teams. We have asked Coach Roush for an interview.

How many kiddos make up Billings Archery?

RR: "(We have) 81 Archers."

What has been the best part of this first year of coaching?

RR: "When an archer learns to control their emotions and regroup after a challenging shooting end. (Or) when a 4th grader thanks you for the opportunity to be able to go to Nationals."

Tell us about an obstacle you had to overcome this season.

RR: "Keeping the focus of 40 archers in a practice, (and/or) registering for State."

What is one goal you set for yourself as a coach?

RR: "To make a positive impact on one archer, and taking a team to the Championship."

If you could give a new coach one piece of advise, what would it be?

RR: "Remember your WHY when you are on the verge of giving up coaching. For me, it is about making an impact (on students' lives) and giving kids an opportunity they may not get (with other sports/activities). Not all kids will make the team for other sports, but with archery they have a place to be part of a team, and to fit in. That is why I coach."

Thank you, Coach Roush, for making an impact!
